Experts for the children's rights from the University of Columbia in New York have visited the Child and Youth Protection Center of Zagreb on March 22nd 2018. Professors Vincent Schiraldia and Lael Elizabeth Hiam Chester was introduced about work of the Center by psychologist Ella Selak Bagarić. Our guests in the discussion were most interested in the treatment of children of perpetrators of violence, co-operation of the Center and the Courts and the manner of conducting the examination of children for the purposes of court proceedings.
Croatian Association of Social Workers of Split-Dalmatia County organized a four-day seminar “Losses and support in the grieving process” in Split is in the Center for Social Welfare Split during February and March.
First three days of education were held by Prof. Lidija Arambašić, PhD from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. Second part of education – relating to support for children and young people after the loss and the grief – was held on March 23 by Bruna Profaca, PhD from the Child and Youth Protection Center of Zagreb.
Through lectures and workshops were presented the reactions of children of different ages in the loss characteristics and the grieving process with a special emphasis on supporting the family and school / kindergarten and communication with the children after the loss.
