Empowering children, parents, professionals and the society
This Council of Europe Campaign officially started with the high level meeting of the Council of Europe in Rome on 29 and 30 November 2010, aiming at inviting states to sign, ratify and implement the Lanzarote Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse. The aim of the Campaign has been empowering children, parents, professionals and the society as a whole with necessary knowledge and tools which would prevent and encourage stopping and reporting child sexual abuse and also raising public awareness about this problem in general.
After the Rome meeting where the Council of Europe Campaign officially started, it was presented at the United Nations meeting in New York. This Regional Conference is a new opportunity for the Child Protection Center of Zagreb to be presented by the Council of Europe as an example of good practice in the protection of abused an neglected children as the most vulnerable part of the population
