After successful regional conference in Linköping and previous exchange meetings in Zagreb and Reykjavik, on 13-14 March 2017 professionals from around Europe came to Haarlem where the third Service Exchange Meeting of the PROMISE project was held. The key theme of the meeting was transfer and adaptation of the project model: the next steps, specifically focusing on promoting MD/IA with linking policy and practice – current practices and challenges in implementing child friendly practices within the child protection systems, implementation in different national contexts and MD/IA services becoming active agents for change in Europe.
The Social Welfare Center Split organized another four-day seminar for its experts in February 2019 on ,,Losses and Support in the grieving process”. The first three days of education were held by prof. dr. sc. Lidija Arambašić from Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb, while the second part of the education was held by doc. dr. sc. Bruna Profaca, psychologist from Child and Youth Protection Center of Zagreb on Februrary 22nd, 2019 which was related to childhood losses and support for children and young people after losses and during grieving.
Trough lectures, workshops and discussions, participants learned about specific responses of children of various age to loss and the characteristics of the grieving process in children, with particular emphasis on providing support and comunication with children and their parents.
