Students and teachers of the International Seminar "Child Abuse" visited the Child and Youth Protection Centre of the City of Zagreb on 26 April 2017. The seminar was planned for undergraduate and graduate students of social education, social work, special education and rehabilitation, and organised and realised by professors from the Netherlands (Inholland University of Applied Sciences, Amsterdam), Belgium (UC Leuven-Limburg, Leuven and Odisee, Bruxelles), Slovakia (Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra), Poland (Kazimiery Pulaski University of Technology and Humanities in Radom) and Croatia (Faculty of Special Education and Rehabilitation, Zagreb University).
Professionals of the Psychological Society of Republika Srpska, the Psychological Society of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Psychological Society of the Brčko District visited the Centre on 24 May 2017. Their two-day visit to the City of Zagreb institutions, organised within their specialist education “Psychological Support of Children in Criminal Proceedings”, included their visit to the Zagreb County Court, the Crime Investigation Police Department, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and the Ombudsman for Children.
In the Centre for Child and Youth Protection of the City of Zagreb, Sc.D. Bruna Profaca, head of diagnostics and treatment, presented our experience in conducting forensic interviews within clinical examinations of children, as well as other forensic activities of the Centre’s professionals. It was an opportunity to exchange experience, and a contribution to the valuable project the participants are included in, related to strengthening professional capacities of professionals providing psychological support to children in criminal proceedings. These professionals also visited the Brave Phone help line and were informed about its activities.
