Human right and psychotraumatology was the title of the 12th European Conference on Traumatic Stress which was held in Vienna from 2 to 5 June 2011. The Conference was organised by ESTSS (European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies). On behalf of our Center, the Conference was attended by Gordana Buljan Flander, Associated Professor, Marija Bačan, M.D., Bruna Profaca, Ph. D. and Dragana Matešković, M.A.
The title of the Conference was a multidimensional and multidisciplinary frame for understanding the individual and collective trauma as a consequence of abuse and violation of human and children’s rights. The Conference was held in the main building of the Vienna University. (Dr.Karl Lueger Ring 1).
Besides attending lectures and participating in workshops during the Conference, they presented their work and the poster Coping strategies in children exposed to different kinds of traumatic events. This research was conducted in the Center on the clinical sample of children who had been exposed to traumatic events outside the family, who had been exposed to peer bullying or had witnessed domestic violence.
