Seminar “Child Friendly Justice: Guaranteeing Children's Rights Within the EU Legal Framework", was held in Belfast on 7 and 8 March 2013. It was organised by the European Academy of European Law in cooperation with the Law Society of Northern Ireland and with the support of the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN).
On the International Day of Fighting Against Violence on Women, November 23rd, 2018, the counseling center for the victims of domestic violence of the Đakovo-Osijek Archdiocese, organised Catechism-Pastoral lecture “VID MIHALJEK” for professional and wider public in Slavonski Brod “. A lecture titled “Manipulation of Children and the System in Highly-Conflict Separations – Identifying Emotional Abuse” was held by Prof. Sc. D. Gordana Buljan Flander, Director of the Child and Youth Protection Center of Zagreb. A message on the importance of responding and dealing in situations of highly conflicting divorces and the recognition of manipulation and emotional abuse was presented to numerous gathered experts from various institutions and parents.
In the afternoon, Prof. Sc. D. Gordana Buljan Flander and Ana Raguž, mag.psych. held a presentation on “Attractiveness, Parenting and Family Dynamics”. Thirty specialists from different profiles gathered. The importance of developing different styles of attachment has been emphasized through the influence on thinking, behavior and emotional perception of the individual, establishing the relationship and functioning of the family as a whole through numerous examples and experiences of practical work. Throughout the discussion, it was concluded that the cooperation of all the institutions and institutions that are in charge of preserving the well-being of children, youth and families is extremely important.
The purpose of this lecture and education was to raise the awareness of the professional and wider public on the importance of tackling the problem of child abuse during the divorce process in situations where parents are in conflict and cannot reach an agreement.
