In the period from February to June 2019, the Association of Centers for Social Work of Slovenia (slov. Skupnost centrov za socialno delo Slovenije) organized four two-day workshops titled “Recognition of Sexual Abuse of Children” held in Ljubljana, Maribor and Koper. The education was led by prof. dr. sc. Gordana Buljan Flander, Director of the Zagreb Child and Youth Protection Center, and 75 experts, employees of the Slovenian centers of social work (social workers, psychologists, lawyers…) working in the field of family protection, participated in the workshop. The topics covered by the workshop were forensic interviews with sexually abused children, symptoms and consequences of sexual abuse in children and differentiating between true and false accusation.

All 16 centres for social work in Slovenia are joined into Association of Centres for Social Work. Association is representing centres of social work in expert bodies of ministries, gives initiative for various programs of social care, cooperates in enforcement of common interests of members in forming legislation, sublegal acts and other regulations, that affect the activities of members, cooperates in the formation and change of standards and norms of social care services, organizes different kinds of meetings and education by exchanging experiences with local and foreign experts from the field of social care or others.
