The Child and Youth Protection Centre of Zagreb has systematically been devoted to developing digital literacy and to protecting children in the online world. On the occasion of the Safer Internet Day we united with children and youth once again, in order to learn from each other. Around 30 children aged 12 to 18, included in the day hospital program, participated in these workshops which were run by Domagoj Štimac, MD, psychiatrist and chief physician, and Ella Selak Bagarić, psychologist.
On Monday, 4 December 2017 Child and Youth Protection Centre of Zagreb visited our friends and colleagues from Slavonia for education. It was organized by Rev. Josip Bošnjaković, a psychologist. Twenty participants from Family Counseling of Slavonski Brod and Osijek, Family Violence Counseling Centers and Slavonski Brod Social Welfare Center participated in the education.
Psychologists, theologians, teachers, social workers, doctors, partnership and family counselors had full day introductory training on the topics: “Manipulation of children during divorce of parents” (Mia Roje), “Violence through modern technology” (Tea Brezinšćak) and “The disclosure of sexual abuse/forensic interview with the child” (Prof. Dr. Sc. Gordana Buljan Flander). During education, further cooperation and contact with the Center have been agreed for professionals who face everyday challenges in the forementioned areas.
