Institute for Mental Health in Belgrade and our Centre continued cooperating through exchange of experience and professionals. From 30 October to 3 November, Ella Selak Bagarić, psychologist of the Day Hospital of the Centre was received in the study visit by the Institute, primarily the Day Hospital for Adolescents run by dr. Zagorka Bradić, psychiatrist and psychotherapist.
Ella Selak Bagarić participated in the activities in the Day Hospital for Adolescents providing partial hospitalisation of adolescents and youth aged 15 to 25 with mental issues and identity formation problems. This Day Hospital accepts up to 30 patients, who are taken care by a multidisciplinary team of therapists designing treatment programmes for each adolescent individually.
The treatment based on evaluation includes pharmacotherapy, individual, group, family and “milieu” therapy.
During her visit to the Institute, Ella Selak Bagarić was introduced to the work of the Clinic for children and youth, i.e. the Clinical Department for Children and Adolescents headed by Asst. prof. Sc.D. Milica Pejović-Milovančević, child psychiatrist, who introduced our psychologist to the methods and structure of work of the Clinic.
The work and concept of the Day Hospital for Children “Prof. Dr Svetomir Bojanin” was presented by the head of the Day Hospital for Children, Nenad Rudić, MD, psychiatrist.
Director of the Institute for Mental Health, a member of the National Academy of Sciences, Prof. Sc.D. Dušica Lečić Toševski also welcomed Ella Selak Bagarić and expressed her wishes for continued cooperation with our Centre.
We thank our colleagues and friends from the Institute for Mental Health for their cooperation and contribution to the further development of the Day Hospital of the Child and Youth Protection Centre of the City of Zagreb. Our work will be inspired by the successful work of the Day Hospital for Adolescents of the Institute.
