Australian delegation visited the Child and Youth Protection Centre of Zagreb on 6 November 2017. The members of the delegation learned about our work and our cooperation with other institutions aiming at child protection in Croatia. Australian delegation was headed by senator Zed Seselja who is visiting Croatia and ambassador Elizabeth Petrovic with the Head of cabinet Angela McGuinness, state secretary Barbara Bennet and the representative of the Australian Embassy office for public diplomacy and consular affairs Dijana Grahovac
International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) held the International Congress in Istanbul on September 09 – 12, 2012. Director of the Child Protection Center Gordana Buljan Flander, Assoc. Prof., Ph. D., and Dragana Matešković, Center’s psychologist, actively participated at the Congress.
The Congress theme was “Every Child Matters: Promoting Local, National and International Partnerships for Protecting Children”. Participants emphasised the importance of integration and cooperation of all available resources, institutions and professionals in dealing with the multifaceted problem of child abuse and neglect.
Director Buljan Flander and Dragana Matešković, with the coauthor Ivana Bagić, Prof., Ph. D., presented two papers, “Consequences of peer bullying face-to-face and via modern technologies: Risk for violent behaviours” and “Croatian dentists’ experience and knowledge about child abuse and neglect”.
Our experts also agreed further cooperation for Center’s professionals training in working with traumatised children with the world-renowned expert in working with abused children, Barbara Bonner, Ph. D.
