The international professional-scientific conference “Happy Children” was held from October 10 to 12, 2018 in Zagreb, and this year was dedicated to the subject of “Art, Game, Imagination, Knowledge, Exercise and Therapy”. The meeting was organized in cooperation with the Faculty of Fine Arts, Creativity and Design – Studio Tanay, Association of Croatian Art Teachers UHULI, Education and Training Agency, and the City Office for Social Welfare and People with Disabilities of the City of Zagreb. Long-term collaboration with the Centre continued through the presentation of “Living together in a world we do not know: Parenting and Growing Up with Contemporary Technology in Pre-School Age”, co-chaired by Gordana Buljan Flander and psychologist Tea Brezinšćak.
International Meeting Happy Children – Art, Game, Imagination, Knowledge, Exercise and Therapy is organized for educators in preschool institutions, as well as kindergarten associates and principals, teachers in children rehabilitation facilities and primary school teachers. The expert-scientific part of the paper is presented by the presentation of “Living together in a world we do not know: Parenting and Growing Up with Contemporary Technology in Pre-School Age”, co-chaired by Gordane Buljan Flander and psychologist Tea Brezinšćak. The presentation was received with great interest and encouraged a rich discussion of work experience and growth with younger generations.
The presentation provided an overview of contemporary scientific knowledge of the way in which contemporary technologies shape the growth of preschool children and potentially affect their development. Information on the habits of using digital media among pre-school children was presented, which is the result of the first national research on the use of modern technology in pre-school age. The work of the same name is published in the proceedings, and you can read it here on the link: https://www.poliklinika-djeca.hr/publikacije/zivjeti-zajedno-u-svijetu-koji-ne-poznajemo-roditeljstvo-i-odrastanje-uz-suvremene-tehnologije-u-predskolskoj-dobi/
