The Brave Phone, in cooperation with the agency Terre des Hommes hosted the international study visit by the participants from Romania, Moldavia, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina on 15 and 16 November 2016. The aim of the visit was sharing knowledge about good practice in the field of child protection. The focus of the study visit was The Child and Youth Protection Centre of the City of Zagreb, as an example of a health institution offering free multidisciplinary help to children and their families in Croatia.
Regarding numerous patients’ and experts’ inquiries about opening an institution named similar as ours in Osijek, we inform parents and professional community that Child and Youth Protection Center of Zagreb is not associated with opening Child and Youth Protection Center in Osijek in any way – organizational, by program, neither by supervision.
As we were informed, there is a fund-raising campaign for Child and Youth Protection Center in Osijek, that uses our informational video (Child and Youth Protection Center of Zagreb as example of excellence), filmed by Child Protection Hub SEE. That could lead to false conclusions, so we admonish that we are not included in fund-raising for Center in Osijek in any way. Some media report the false information about our director Gordana Buljan Flander being the supervisor of the project. The director is not associated to this project in any way.
In principle we strongly support every center’s work, as long it promotes children rights, helps children and families and we are open for cooperation and support of any type, if agreed on professional level.
