Daily newspaper 24sata brings a report from the thematic sessions of the Parliamentary Committee for Family, Youth and Sport held on 15 June 2018 on the topic of prevention and combating of pedophilia, attended by the director of the Child and Youth Protection Center of Zagreb, professor Gordana Buljan Flander, PhD. The session as particularly worrying emphasized that out of a total committed sexual crime in Croatia, many committed against children. On the portal Telegram.hr, journalist Ana Raić Knežević, on June 2, 2018, writes about the verdict issued by the Misdemeanor Court in Jastrebarsko against the father who in his SMS insulted his 15-year-old son and threatened him with a 'Croatian slap' because the boy decided to give up from playing football in one of Zagreb's clubs. The misdemeanor court has assessed the father's act as an offense against a child sanctioned by the Family Protection Law.
