Education on adolescent self injury held in Center
Our associates and colleagues, experts in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry and psychology, Jasminka Marković, MD and Jelena Srdanović Maraš, PhD, held an education at the Zagreb Child and Youth Protection Center on the topic "Adolescent self injury, practical guidelines for evaluation and therapeutic work" on October 18, 2019. With the presentation of new scientific knowledge in this field, there was also an opportunity to exchange experiences through discussion. Educators explained the difference between suicide attempts and non-suicidal self injury. Suicide attempts are intended for taking life, and in non-suicidal self injury there is no such intention. There are a number of reasons that cause adolescents to self-harm, which should be approached with caution.
