Croatian professionals engaged in child protection visit Ireland

 A study visit to Belfast and Dublin from 05 to 10 March 2012 for Croatian representatives was organised within the cooperation between Croatian and Irish professionals engaged in the field of child sexual abuse and exploitation. The purpose of the visit was learning about the work of Irish institutions in cases of child sexual abuse.

The program of the visit was conducted under the title “Strengthening capacities to fight child sexual abuse and exploitation, cooperation and help to the vulnerable victims group”, and the emphasis was on the investigation in cases of suspected child abuse and cooperation between police and judiciary with health and social care workers.

Croatian representatives from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Police Academy, Probation Office and Support Office for Witnesses and Victims, State Attorney, Ministry of Social Policy and the Youth and Iskon participated in this study visit.

Dr. Domagoj Štimac, psychiatrist and Deputy Director of the Child Protection Center of Zagreb was a member of the Croatian team.
