Conference on violence prevention

„Building a non-violent world“ Conference about violence prevention among the children and youth was held by the Ministry of science, education and sport on May 15, 2009. The participants were prof.dr sc. Mark Greenberg of the University of Pennsylvania, the USA,  Lidija Arambašić, Associated Professor of the Faculty of Philosophy, Zagreb,   Josipa Bašić, Associated Professor of the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation, Zagreb, and the Child Protection Center of Zagreb Principal,  Gordana Buljan Flander, Assistant Professor.

The Principal delivered the lecture ‘Children in the family – what they witness and what they experience’ where she talked about risk and protective factors for abuse, i.e. violence with a special emphasis on family factors.

Representatives of the media contributed with the lecture ‘Role and contribution of the media in the prevention of violence among the children and youth’ and State Secretary of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport, prof. dr.sc. Dijana Vican lectured on ‘A safe society – a society imbued with values’. Read more on pages of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sport .
