Cognitive behavioural therapy – new perspectives

‘New perspectives in cognitive behavioural therapy’ was the topic of the 39th Annual Congress of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy (EABCT) which was held in Dubrovnik, 16—19 September 2009. Rich scientific programme of the Congress covered topics of psychopathology in adults and childhood, existing treatments and techniques of their validity assessment, the administration of the cognitive behavioural therapy techniques outside the field of psychopathology, as well as the field of education and parenthood.

Experts from the Center delivered a poster presentation: ‘Case presentation — cognitive behavioural treatment of a sexually abused girl’.

Croatian Association for cognitive behavioural therapies (HUBIKOT), established in 1955, and an active full member of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy (EABCT), was the organiser of this Congress. More about the Association on its official web-site www.hubikot.hr

The Congress brought together active participation of 50 countries from all over the world. Twelve invited lectures were held and 24 workshops. Thirty-eight symposium topics were opened and about 170 poster presentations delivered. More about the Congress can be found at www.eabct.org
